These past few months have been extremely busy as we race towards finishing up our first feature film.

Just a couple weeks ago, The Umbrella reached its picture lock, which means the final edit had been reached. Within the next couple of weeks we will be recording ADR, coloring the entire project, and receiving the polished version of The Umbrella’s original score.
Jonathan has been in the studio recording all the actors coming in and out reading pieces of the script for ADR .

William has been researching and figuring out how to add in the specific effects that Jason is seeking for the film.

Brenden has been working on our latest webisode, which was just released, check it out.

Jay, Zakk and myself have been working the promotional side of things, writing, shooting and editing a video advertising our Umbrella merchandise. Stay tuned for that.

Jason has been working vigorously alongside our composer Kyle Cox for months now. Working closely with a composer who resides oversees is no easy task. You have to consider the time differences, being in Australia we are a day ahead of Kyle, we had to think ahead to make sure we would get necessary information to him in the time he needed to receive it.

Again with Kyle living so far away we had to rely solely on the internet to keep a continuous communication going. Many emails were exchanged, and numerous skype meetings held. The internet is not always 100% reliable and we all had to remain patient with one another when things did not run smoothly.

What I just wrote does sound taxing but Kyle has been great to work with from the start. He’s been informative, understanding, and efficient. We received our first tracks just weeks after we began working with him. The moment the office heard the track for what would be dubbed The Umbrella theme we knew Kyle’s style was the perfect fit. Ever since the first tracks were sent there has been a constant stream of music flowing in, it being placed into the film, notes being taken, sent and returned. As a result of all this, Kyle has stepped into the studio to record the tracks for the Umbrella score in a professional setting.

After a couple of setbacks things are finally coming together with a renewed excitement as The Umbrella premiere comes into view.
