Mission: Make a Movie

As a creative, it has been my dream to work in the film industry and especially on a feature film. So when the opportunity arose to be part of a feature film in Australia, I jumped at it without a second thought.

    And now it’s happening.

I’m part of The Initiative Production Company and working towards making this film a dang good one.

I have found that I rather like the pre-production process, despite my prior doubts. Watching a film come together in preparation for principal photography is quite exciting.

But of course, I am amped to get the cameras rolling. After getting a taste of the film experience during the course of The School of Digital Filmmaking, I can confidently say there is nothing quite like it.

It’s one of the most challenging things you can do, but also one of the most rewarding. I can only imagine what that must feel like on the set of a feature film.

Although I have yet to be assigned an on-set crew position, I am excited nonetheless. There are not very many jobs I can think of that I would not enjoy.

Either way, working on the set of a feature film will literally be a dream come true. So no matter what position I am assigned, whether I enjoy it or not, I am positive I will thoroughly enjoy the entire process.

Another aspect I am excited for is working on a film with people I’m already friends with. In my experience, working with people you know is always a nice thing, so making a film with people you know should be loads of fun.

Everyone in The Initiative is uniquely talented, with many of them specialising in specific areas of film. This only makes the experience better, as we all pool our various talents together to make something amazing.

Now that The Initiative has officially launched The Out of the Woods Project, the office is oscar mike (military speak for on the move).

The mission: Make a killer film. Armed with talent and high-end equipment. The Initiative gears up to make The Out of the Woods Project become a reality.
