Small Beginnings features a beautiful and talented lady, both in acting and directing today. She has played many different characters over the years, including a princess, a runaway and ruthless politician.
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas, Texas in 1966 and raised in San Diego, California. Robin attended High School in Los Angeles and started working as a model at the age of 14. After that she transitioned into film work and won several Emmy Award nominations as Santa Barbara on the NBC television soap opera despite having no formal acting training.
She starred in films like The Princess Bride and Forrest Gump which opened her every possible door (while she wisely avoided roles that would lead into being typecast). After a few years of private living, devoted to her family, Wright starred in a few roles on the side of her then-husband Sean Penn as well as award nominations in different sectors.
Wright is the first actress winning a Golden Globe for a web television series in her role as Claire Underwood in the Netflix series House of Cards. Besides acting and directing, she is also involved in charity work for The Gordie Foundation, Pour Les Femmes and The SunnyLion, supporting the Raise Hope For Congo Movement.
We wish Robin Wright, her family and career all the best and hope for more female acting talent as well as strong characters who know what they are worth.
