This Horrible Video is the Best

Every creative needs to see Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. This forty-two minute story is sure to have you laughing and singing along. With names like Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, and Joss Whedon I don’t think I need to say anything more to convince you to watch this cult classic.

But if you still need convincing…

It was created by Joss, along with his brothers Jed and Zack and sister-in-law Maurissa Tancharoen. They wrote and produced it during the 2007/2008 writers strike because they got bored, so naturally, they got their friends together and made a web-series you’re sure to sing about.

In an interview, Nathan Fillion (who plays Captain Hammer) said when he saw it was Joss Whedon calling him, he answered the phone by saying, “Yes!” before he even knew what it was for. He knew whatever Joss was asking, he wanted to be a part of it.

With quirky super-villains and vain super-heros, you’re sure to laugh at the comedic genius and timing of the cast. Not to mention, it’s full of great songs, sung by the incomparable lead Neil Patrick Harris (who plays Dr. Horrible) and the rest of the cast.

And the story is great enough to watch the complete trope in one sitting three times and still not be tired of it. You’ll want to sing along and may even find yourself wishing you could have been a part of the production!

If you’re a fan of Joss Whedon, Firefly and/or How I Met Your Mother, I guarantee you’ll love this. Let it be a source of inspiration and creativity.
