How to Make a Hyperlapse

By Micah McWhorter

Time-lapses are cool and all, but have you ever seen a hyper-lapse? If there is any way us filmmakers can take something cool and make it more cinematic then we will.

A hyper-lapse is essentially and time-lapse with camera movement.

For a long time I’ve wanted to know how to make this hyper-lapse effect, but I thought it was only possible with special motorized equipment.

I recently found out that you could do it with a tripod! This video is about my experience creating my first hyper-lapses.

It’s easy to do but if you attempt it be prepared to test your patience. Though it may take some time, it is well worth your time! Enjoy!
