Dear fellow independent filmmakers, “Tis the season to be –  generous”. It’s so hard, at least for me, to get out of the cycle of consumption and look away from myself toward the needs and joys of others.

And yet it is the greatest gift to give and show someone appreciation. Their reaction is priceless.

Here is a video my sister stumbled across and sent me the other day, which I would like to share with you.

With 1,829,175 subscribers the Canadian born Inanna Sarkis has a very large range of (young) viewers she influences. I think youtube gives a good glimpse into what a generation, in particular 13 – 28 year olds, thinks and values.

So as a filmmaker observing large growing online communities opens a gateway to what our (possible) targeted audience enjoys and is interested in.

If you haven’t already watched what went viral in the online community, then check it out and let’s embrace the giving, because isn’t that why we celebrate Christmas?
