Did Werner Herzog Want to Direct Ant-Man?

Have you ever stumbled onto something so creative it just made you think, “Wow, this is great.” That’s exactly how I felt when I stumbled onto Patrick (H) Willems’ What If Werner Herzog Directed Ant-Man?

A faux documentary trailer in the style of Herzog’s Grizzly Man. Paying an intense attention to detail Willem re-creates everything from Herzog’s style. From a fantastic impersonation of his iconic narration, to his style of cinematography and exploration of life you can feel the amount of work that was put into it.

In all honesty it made me want to watch an Ant-Man movie directed by Werner Herzog and I think that’s incredible. I’d encourage any aspiring filmmaker or film student to do an exercise like this; it’s a creative way to dissect a certain visual and tonal style and learn from it.
