Get Some Mud in Your Eye With Rachel Morrison

It’s a big year not just for the innovative films nominated for an Oscar, but filmmakers in general. The 2018 Oscars has the first ever female Director of Photography nominated for Best Cinematography, Rachel Morrison.

Morrison sat down for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about her work on Mud as well as the shifting dynamics of women working in the industry.

“I think the big trick is to get to a point where we’re just considered DPs and not just female DPs. When you think of the word doctor, or teacher you don’t think gender and it would be nice to get to a point where DP meant either.” -Rachel Morrison in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Watch the full interview below and here’s to more innovative women getting recognized and obtaining opportunity in the industry.
