Arrival was instantly acclaimed by actors, critics, and filmmakers alike when it was released in 2016. Winning an Oscar for Best Sound Editing and being nominated for numerous others, the film was beautiful, powerfully imagined and almost unprecedented in its realism of humanity.
With the story focusing around, Amy Adams’ Louise Banks and her life, we live and experience the events alongside her as they unfold throughout the entire film. Not only does this keep us very personal with her but with the combined talents of both the director, Denis Villeneuve, and Adams’ skill, we are undoubtedly convinced of her character and humanity, which play the crucial role in this tale of life.
What this film does better than most, is how it portrays humanity as a whole. With our many cultures and differences, the troubles and mistrust between us are evident but when faced with an outside force, if we can put aside our differences our common humanity can become our strength instead of our weakness.
This video highlights the story as a whole and covers the worldwide cooperation dynamic and why this creative story needs to be told, now more than ever.
