Jim Carrey, an actor all independent filmmakers are either inspired or terrified by.
I just watched the trailer for Dark Crimes, Jim Carrey’s latest film. It’s a role unlike any other for the man whose world famous for witty impersonations, slapstick, and ‘laugh-out-loud’ humour.
I got chills. The story itself intrigued me but it seems like this is a movie for actors. The cast seems incredible and Jim Carrey’s performance looks haunting.
As I stared into the screen it felt (though you never see this side of Jim Carrey) like this was a role made for him…
…from everything we’ve seen lately about His personal life on the news and social media, maybe we’re about to see who he truly is. Maybe there really is a dark side to him, maybe he’s just a great actor, or maybe it’s somewhere in between.
I am excited to see this film. I feel as though I am about to witness something truly unique and cannot wait to be shown a glimpse of something I’ve never seen before; a different side of one of the world’s favourite comedy actors.
