This Is What Happens When Indie Film Strikes Gold

It seems as each year passes, more and more flicks come from places outside Hollywood and big wallets, and start to come from the hand of independent filmmakers. Leave No Trace is an independent film to keep your eye on!

Directed by academy nominee Debra Granik, Leave No Trace follows a veteran and his daughter living in a lush Portland, Oregon forest. The two are ripped from their comfort and forced to live in a society that’s unfamiliar.

“A refreshing look at humanity in general, “Leave No Trace” is a universal, unforgettable experience.” – Rotten Tomatoes Critic

There’s a few reasons this flick is one to pick for your next movie night!

  • Debra Granik was one of the best contenders at Sundance Film Festival with this one, further showing that women directors are up and coming in the industry.
  • 18 year old Co-star and New Zealand actress, Thomasin McKenzie was said by a film critic to have given a performance compared to Jennifer Lawrence!
  • Lead role, Ben Foster has got some great blockbusters under his name like Lone Survivor, The Finest Hours and Warcraft: The Beginning.

Watch the trailer and see what you think! Having a woman director and two great performances for the lead roles, keeping up with these movies is exactly how we support the indie film community!
