When learning how to make movies, you learn how everything can lend itself to improve your shot. Set decoration, props and wardrobe are the first pieces that come to mind when you think of ways to make a shot better. Then, there’s the lighting, the camera movements, angles and the technical side.

But there’s one simple thing that can drastically change a shot if used correctly: foreground.
