Bait and Switch! Every Time Movies Recast Their Characters

Ever go out to see the sequel to one of last year’s popular movies and notice a different actor is in the role?

These days it’s kind of a big deal, but in the past recasting was like changing a lightbulb.

The latest film to do this it is Todd Phillips’ The Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the new clown prince of crime. Set in a different continuity than the current slate of DC Comics films and Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, Phoenix’s portrayal will mark the third cinematic portrayal of Mister J. since Nolan and Heath Ledger reinvented the character in 2008.

In light of all of this Mr. Sunday Movies has made a video about characters recast in superhero flicks. It’s kinda crazy to see just how many actors have been replaced in these popular movies (especially the Batman films).
