Behind The Scenes With Bubbles, A Bathtub and Mary Poppins

Our favourite nanny is back with never-ending inspiration, quirkiness and a touch of magic! After 54 years since the original, Mary Poppins Returns to Cherry Tree Lane. With the film taking on a more modern approach there’s been some very creative thinking in the making.

One scene that blew my mind was the scene where Mary Poppins disappears into the bubbles, I thought it was CGI. Stumbling across the behind the scenes footage of what the creators made for the scene was surprisingly awesome.

The special effects team created a slide for the cast to slip down into, which meant that sliding backwards was the only option, as well as having quite a lot of fun! So, you could say this was a lot better than CGI and now we know the full truth of the illusion.

The film crew wasn’t just filming a scene they were filming an adventure.

Be sure to check out the behind the scenes video and see how they created the slide! It takes creative filmmakers to make a set fun while getting the job done.
