You Need To See The OA

There are several unique and creative shows on Netflix but not many stand out like The OA.

The first season was released in 2016, and it met every expectation I didn’t know I had.

Having been missing for several years, the once blind Prairie has returned home and reunited with her parents. However, now she is able to see. It transcends our own natural world and becomes almost spiritual with the story centering around characters who’ve had near death experiences.

I was first shown the very ending of the season by a co-worker, which unfortunately spoiled the show for me, but even then, after going back and watching from the beginning I was still drawn in and couldn’t look away.

I’m certainly making it sound like this show is everything you could ever hope for and more, but from my own subjective point of view, it is, especially with its particular colour palette, heartbreaking performances, and mesmerizing cinematography.

The OA is worth watching for the story alone.

ANYWAY, I’ve been waiting for what feels like many years (because it has been) for the second season to drop, and finally it will, on March 22 on Netflix.

If you haven’t seen it yet, watch the first season and then take a look at the trailer for the innovative second season, because it’s certainly going to step up a level.
