Innovative show, Game of Thrones, has come to an end, and while the fans mourn, throw tomatoes, or sign petitions to have the creatives re-shoot the entire final season I think it’s a good time to take a step back and get a bit of inspiration from one of its leading stars.

These two clips, one from YouTube Channel MotivationHub which highlights a speech from Tyrion Lannister – erm, I mean the incredible actor Peter Dinklage – on how to “fail better”. And the second clip is from YouTube Channel Bennington College where Dinklage originally gave the speech in 2012 at his alma mater (Bennington College).

If you prefer to watch the unedited version (which I highly recommend) just be aware it’s close to half an hour in length. Otherwise, enjoy the slightly shorter version with fun B-roll and inspirational music.

“Don’t wait until they tell you, you are ready, get in there … The world might say you are not allowed to yet, I waited a long time out in the word before I gave myself permission to fail… We burn very brightly, please don’t ever stop … fail again, fail better. The world is yours.” – Peter Dinklage

Game of Thrones may be over, but Dinklage’s journey of failure and success will never cease to be an incredible piece of inspiration to all us independent filmmakers to keep pushing and persevering and ‘fail again, fail better’, enjoy!
