Rarely would I ever consider a commercial for a product art. I think mostly because I know what the purpose of it is…to get me excited about and purchase their product.

This is why I was so surprised when I watched Spike Jonze’s newest commercial for KENZO’s new fragrance.

Call it a great marketing ploy, but using storytelling principles and exciting visuals is taking this video way further than a casual advertisement.

It’ll be interesting to see if society continues to merge the commercial and entertainment, and how that comes about.
