Studio Ghibli’s Coming To Netflix: Here’s The Best Of The Best!

Get excited because all of the popular movies from the famous Studio Ghibli are coming to Netflix! The reason why this is so exciting is that all of their films have been incredibly hard to stream, especially when it comes to dubbing. The best thing about it is that it’s not just a couple of films it’s all 21 of them! Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo and My Neighbour Totoro just to name a few. All the films will have subtitles in 28 languages and will be dubbed in 20 making it effortless to watch! 

All of Studio Ghibli’s movies are original, enjoyable and straight up hard to beat, and it’s one of Netflix’s best decisions yet. In a recent article from the Hollywood reporter Studio Ghibli’s producer Toshio Suzuki states, “We’ve listened to our fans and have made the definitive decision to stream our film catalogue. We hope people from around the world will discover the world of Studio Ghibli through this experience.”

Netflix will be releasing the films in monthly portions, this system will keep the anticipation going! It’s official launch date will be February 1st with these films …

Drumroll please… 

February 1st 2020

  • Castle In The Sky 
  • My Neighbour Totoro
  • Kiki’s Delivery Service 
  • Only Yesterday 
  • Porco Rosso
  • Ocean Waves 
  • Tales From Earthsea

The next wave of new releases will be on the 1st of March, including these films: 

  • Nausicaa Of The Valley Of Wind
  • Princess Mononoke 
  • My Neighbours The Yamadas 
  • Spirited Away
  • The Cat Returns
  • Arriety 
  • The Tale of The Princess Kaguya 

Then for the following month these films will be released on the 1st of April:

  • Pom Poko 
  • Whisper of the Heart 
  • Howl’s Moving Castle 
  • Ponyo
  • From Up on Poppy Hill
  • The Wind Rises
  • When Marnie Was There

Now, if you’re unfamiliar with Studio Ghibli or have no idea about it’s popularity, you’re about to find out. Studio Ghibli is a Japanese based film company, founded by Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Toshio Suzuki, Yasuyoshi Tokuma. The studio is best known for anime feature films and are prominently known for unique characters, creative storytelling, as well as being an influential icon across the globe. Not to mention the amazing music composed within these films, we can thank Joe Hisaishi for his work on Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbour Totoro and many more. 

The studio definitely has some of the highest-grossing films, one of them being Spirited Away which won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and is critically acclaimed for being one of the best animated movies of all time. The studio continues to bring awe and wonder to many of their other films. 

Gather your friends, make pop-corn and spend your days watching the nostalgic Japanese classics! Fan’s, those days of searching far and wide to stream the films are gone, it’s now easy and accessible. And for those that haven’t got into watching any yet, please do, they’re truly an inspiration!
