Space. The Final Explanation Of What’s Accurate

It wouldn’t come as a surprise to know many popular movies are inaccurate, especially when it comes to stories set in space. I don’t know about you, but when I watch a space flick I often wonder how much the science checks out.

Many Hollywood portrayals of, almost anything really, are likely an exaggeration of the truth. So here to set the record straight is NASA Astronaut Nicole Stott in this Wired video as she breaks down several different popular space movie scenes from Total Recall to Gravity.

Many of these scenes may be pretty far from reality (ie. Spaceballs) but you might actually be surprised at how accurate some of them turn out to be.

However, I would say watch this objectively. Sometimes to be able to believe the story and get lost in the magic of cinema it may be hard to gain inspiration if you are too focused on the science behind every detail instead of coming at it from a subjective point of view.
