The Brilliant Work Of A Powerful Opening Scene

Martin Scorsese is a brilliant director who brings inspiration to many who watch his films. The Irishman is another testament to his ability.

Every director has a signature they put on their projects. For Wes Anderson, it’s his artistic use of colours and framing. For Tim Burton it’s his dark tones and gothic inspiration. For Martin Scorsese, it’s his ability to draw you in with just the first few frames.

A video from  Studio Binder talks about the intricate use of blocking and symbolic structures to give an insight into what our protagonist is thinking. Scorsese’s ability to show the audience the lack of connection and moral qualms the protagonist endures is breathtaking.

Give the video a watch to get a glimpse at what techniques Scorsese used to create his tenacious cinematic masterpiece.
