For the past few months, I’ve been working as a Foley Artist, which is just a creative way to say that I make sound effects for movies. And in all honesty, it’s ruined me for watching movies the same way. I can’t help but notice footsteps in movies now, and I’m pretty much doomed to analyze every sound effect I hear at the cinema. It’s why I was so intrigued when I saw one of Nerdwriter1’s latest videos, Harry Potter: What Magic Sounds Like.
The video goes into detail about just how much the sound of magic in the Harry Potter films creates a universe and feel for the films.
It’s a great insight into the world of filmmaking and about how every creative detail you see and hear goes towards crafting a story.
