I watched this video after my roommate suggested it. It was not what I expected at all. I was thinking it was probably going to be another typical music video, another cry for equality or something. But nope, I was wrong.
This video not only shattered the stereotypes people associate with music videos, but it also got me to relate with the main character. Through the stunning editing, catchy beat, and no words, I was captured in the feeling of loneliness that she displayed. I felt like I could relate with her, which was really strange for me to realize.
And strangely, the lady in yellow seemed like the only sane person in the video. And for the life of me, I still don’t know how the artist, Bonobo, got me to view her this way.
