Is “Blade Runner 2049” Going To Be The Best Film Of The Year?

A new trailer was released for the sequel to one of the most popular movies ever to grace the science-fiction genre. The trailer of course, was for Blade Runner 2049.

This film is going to be the best one of the year, I know it. Here’s why.

We’re talking a replicant as the main villain who’s played by the Jared Leto. Of course, Ford is back, which is freaking awesome, as he looks to help Gosling’s character in a mentoring role.

It also looks like they’re going to new worlds. Instead of being just on Earth where the original story takes place, we see Gosling’s character go to a red desert world, which I assume is populated by Replicants. We’re finally exploring the rest of the Blade Runner universe.

Also, there’s so much you can do with our technology. A film like Blade Runner being made in today’s time has so much potential. The trailer makes it feel like the good ol’ Blade Runner we know. Same music, same feel. But new.

For me though, the best part is definitely seeing Villeneuve’s name on one of the shots. Because his work in Arrival is so good. Arrival is so good. And if he’s a part of the process, one can only hope he’ll influence this movie, because he knows how to do science fiction. Hopefully the creative minimalism Arrival has will also be present in this next big hit.
