Why IT Looks Better Than IT

I know it’s a popular movie, but I’ll be honest, I can’t get into the original IT movie… miniseries… whatever the final version was. I’m sure it scared everyone when they were kids, but watching it for the first time in 2011… I just couldn’t get into it. Which is why I was excited when I heard it was getting a revamp (a weird thing for a filmmaker to say, I know.)

I’ve always had a weird relationship with horror flicks, going through high school during the height of the found footage craze, horror films had become cheaply made, poorly acted, jump scares. Then along came The Conjuring and horror movies became kind of awesome again. Long story short, I think we’re in a new renaissance of well made horror films and IT is no exception. The production value looks awesome, the new clown is terrifying and the cinematography looks great.
