Movies With Strong Symbolism You Didn’t See

Symbolism in movies is what makes them tenacious and captivating, it helps create meaning and emotion. Imagine if movies didn’t have symbolism! The story and message would be kinda boring.

Filmmakers always know how to make a film look great, like cool explosions, special effects and even props, so it can be easy to miss the deeper messages a film is trying to get across.

Symbolism is an effective way that takes many different forms including, a figure of speech where an object, person, place or situation has another meaning other than its literal meaning, which can be seen through visuals, music, sound effects, nonverbals and verbal symbols. It’s almost like different parallel worlds colliding with each other.

This video lists a bunch of movies with hidden symbolism which you may have missed like Toy Story 3, The Dark Knight, E.T, Spider-Man, The Matrix, Groundhog Day and many more. Next time when you’re watching a film look out for the underlying messages throughout, you might find some pretty innovative meanings.
