The Hero We Need is Big, Grey and Fluffy

Hero’s come in all shapes and sizes, and bring more inspiration and justice to society than anyone else. But what if the hero we need most today doesn’t come with a hammer, or super strength, or the ability to destroy anything in our way. What if the hero we need is one that shows us how to overcome the struggles in our life? Enter Totoro.

The big, fluffy troll first debuted in the timeless animated film, My Neighbor Totoro. The film follows two young girls and their father who move to the Japanese countryside, and quickly find that there is something special about where they’ve moved when they start crossing paths with magical creatures.

Youtube channel, The Take posted a video to highlight why not just, Totoro is so timeless, but why the entire movie is so timeless. The journey the girls go on for getting through immense pain is something that each of us can learn from. Laugh through the storm! Don’t be afraid to let your imagination take over! Scream in the face of danger! It’s a timeless classic because the lessons learned by the girls are timeless, and span across all cultures.

Give this video a watch, and go back and see just how creative the movie was when dealing with our daily struggles, and how it became a timeless classic.
