Everyone needs a little help sometimes, and independent filmmakers are no exception. Nothing happens in a vacuum.
It’s easy to have an “I can do this on my own” mentality, but it’s wholly unnecessary. However, new indie filmmakers can be afraid to reach out to local businesses for help, especially if they have little to no budget for the film.
What these filmmakers don’t often realise at first is there are plenty of business out there large and small who need help too. Having their product featured in your film or on your set could be the boost they need too.
Filmmakers, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. No is the worst thing you’re going to hear.
