As independent filmmakers and creatives, we love film and all it brings. As we begin another decade of making movies, it’s good to look back at how films have evolved over the last ten years.
In this video from YouTube Channel Screen Junkies, they splice together sweeping shots to the perfect soundtrack, and editor Dan Murrell’s timing is incredible. Starting with the song, Montage, from independent film Swiss Army Man, he uses it as a guide to showcase the most popular and groundbreaking films throughout the last decade, and caps it off with Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.
In a note from Murrell, he said, “This was a labor of love, and I did my best to incorporate as many films as I could, across a wide range of genres, years, and budgets.” I, for one, am super thankful for the time and energy he put into this. It honours both independent films and major Hollywood blockbusters, and it’s evident he loves movies.
Thanks Murrell for a well told super-cut full of inspirational films and popular movies! It’s definitely inspired me to get creative for the next decade and shoot more films!
